Sail Nauticus 2-Week Membership Trial

Want to give sailing a try before joining as a member? Purchase our 14 day trial and get access to any of our social sails during this time. Register below and follow the instructions in your confirmation email to sign up for our sails -- review the Event Calendar for our weeknight Racing Series, Social Sails, Women's Social Sails, and Second Sunday Social Sails.

Sail Nauticus First Sails

Perfect for anyone new to sailing or rediscovering sailing! Enjoy a two-hour introduction to sailing on the Elizabeth River. Up to three participants will learn from a Sail Nauticus instructor how to harness the wind and navigate the boat in one of our Harbor 20 sailboats. For more details, click here.

First Sail Tickets:
 Please bring your e-ticket(s) on your mobile device or in print form on your specified date.

Upon purchase you will receive two emails, first email will confirm your purchase, second email will contain your e-ticket.

We will make every attempt to reschedule your experience. However, if you need to cancel or reschedule for any reason, changes are subject to a $25 processing fee.

Refunds will be made according to the timeline below:

  • Cancellations made more than 4 weeks in advance of the scheduled start date of your sailing experience are entitled to a full refund minus the $25 processing fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 4 weeks and more than 1 week in advance of the scheduled start date are entitled to a 50% refund of the program fee minus the $25 processing fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 1 week in advance of the scheduled start date are non-refundable.

No refunds or discounts will be made for missed classes, vacation days or dismissal from the program.

Teacher Open House

Join us for an evening of hands-on exploration, community connection, and a toast to great teaching! STEM on Tap is Nauticus’ annual open house just for educators, featuring drinks, light fare, and interactive exhibits. Learn about our school programs while connecting with fellow teachers in a fun, engaging atmosphere.

Cost: Free entry for teacher and one guest.

Event includes beer/wine, light fare and all guests are entered to win a FREE field trip. Limited spots available, register in advance below to guarantee your spot.

Overnight Family

Spend the night aboard the battleship in her historic berthing complete with a VIP tour of the ship and Nauticus' exhibits, engaging activities and more. Experience concludes with breakfast in the historic wardroom. This unique experience is perfect for families of all ages.

Event Timeline:
6:30PM - Arrival
7 - 10PM - Tours + Activities
10PM - Overnight in berthing
7:30 - 8:30AM - Breakfast in the Wardroom


Please note:
- The minimum capacity for the event is 24 campers, if the capacity is not met 1 week before the event, purchasers will be notified and a refund will be processed.

- Recommended for ages 4+ and up. 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Toddler Time

Offered twice a month, Toddler Time provides a fun and education experience to engage young minds. 

The ticket price includes access to Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin after the program.

  • Every individual needs a ticket, even child 2 & under.
  • Tickets are only valid for your specified date. If you need a different date, please select "Other dates.." above.
  • Additional tours are available as add-ons. After adding the program to your cart, select "add-on" at the top right.

Tour: VIP Battleship Experience

The VIP Experience is 90 minutes in length and includes areas only accessible with a guide, including the Captain's Cabin and bridge, as you travel up to the 08 level. The ticket price includes access to all Nauticus & Battleship Wisconsin exhibits for exploration before or after your guided experience.

Please note:
- The experience is not wheelchair or stroller accessible and requires climbing ladders and entering tight spaces.
- Recommended for ages 13 and up.
- Closed toe, comfortable shoes recommended.
- Tickets are non-refundable.

Tour - Battleship 101

Battleship 101 is a 45-minute, family-friendly guided tour that offers an engaging overview of the Battleship Wisconsin. Perfect for first-time visitors, you’ll explore key areas topside and learn what life was like aboard one of the Navy’s largest and last battleships.

The tour is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Admission is required in addition to your tour ticket, and both must be for the same date. Tours are non-refundable and take place rain or shine.

Add On: Camp Family Sail

All ages are welcome!

Let your campers showcase their newly acquired sailing skills as you sail with an experienced skipper. Make new memories and enjoy downtown Norfolk from a new perspective. 

This adventure is offered at a discounted rate for registered camper's families only. 

Price includes Harbor 20s boat rental for up to 4 people. 

Discovery Days

Your Discovery Day ticket includes access to all exhibits in the Discovery Center and a self-guided tour on board the Battleship Wisconsin. Your ticket is valid all day for your selected date only.

Tour - Command & Control

Take command aboard the Battleship Wisconsin! Join a historical interpreter for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes experience exploring how this mighty ship was navigated and engaged in battle. Step inside the Captain’s Cabin, Pilot House, and Combat Engagement Center to see where critical decisions were made to lead this “City at Sea.”

This guided tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and includes areas only accessible with a guide.

Tour - Life in the Engine Room

Descend seven decks below the main deck for an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Battleship Wisconsin. This fascinating guided experience takes you deep into spaces never before open to the public, where you’ll discover what it took to power this massive “City at Sea.”

Explore the ship’s fire room, walk along Broadway, and experience the machinery that kept one of the Navy’s largest battleships in motion.
